Seafreight Imports and Exports

Forwarding Teams

Through our international relations and strong buying power with all Airlines and Shipping Lines.  Contract Forwarding is in a very good position to offer a single-source solution to and from any worldwide point.  Our Forwarding teams are trained to handle the challenges of global shipping on your behalf while keeping you fully informed of each development.

From the time your order is placed, your co-coordinator will monitor and track it’s progress, consult with you should you require your stock consolidated and will offer you an indication of your landed costs when required.  Our objective is for you to gain from our competitive rates and potential cost saving strategies as our Imports and Export teams will inform you should they identify a more cost effective yet reliable method of dispatching your consignment.

LCL (Less than a full container load for smaller quantities by sea).

This method of sea freight is charged on the higher of either the total weight or measurement basis (per 1 cubic meter or 1 ton).

FCL  (Full Container Loads for larger quantities by sea).

This method is charged per container and the size of the container is dependent on the size and quantity of your upcoming consignment.  We would recommend allowing our estimators the opportunity to calculate the most cost effective method of dispatch.

20’ Containers –  Referred to as 6 meter container, this container can handle a volume of 32m3 but it is recommended to confirm the maximum weight restriction imposed on the roads of the country of origin or destination.

40’ Containers – Referred to as 12 meter container, whilst this container can hold roughly double the volume at 67m3, it is still recommended to confirm the maximum weight restriction imposed on the roads of the country of origin or destination.

High Cube containers –  Similar in structure but taller.

Reefer Containers –  Refrigerated Containers designed to maintain the pre-cooled cargo temperature (pharmaceuticals etc).

Out-Of-Gauge –  Where the cargo height, width or length extends beyond the capacity of a standard container.

Break bulk – Specialized loading of over sized freight.
